Arrive at Guwahati airport by flight and transfer to Shillong (130 km/4 hrs). En-route visit the mesmerizing Umiam lake (Umiam Lake, a mesmerizing man-made reservoir, is located at a distance of 15 kilometres north of Shillong which is the capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Meghalaya. The lake was formed after a dam was constructed to generate hydroelectric power. The scenic Umiam Lake is encircled by lush green East Khasi hills that form one of the best panoramic sights for nature-lovers in the country.). Reached Shillong and check in hotel. Evening roam around a very famous and cheap Police bazaar market. Overnight at Shillong.
After breakfast check out hotel and drive to Cherrapunjee (60 km/2 ½ hrs). Check in hotel and promptly visit Dainthlen Waterfalls, Arwah Cave, and Nohkalikai Waterfalls. After lunch visit Eco Park, Mawsmai Cave. Back to the hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast check out hotel and drive to Mawllynong (90 km/3 hrs). Reach Mawllynong and visit Mawllynong village (The cleanest village in Asia, Mawllynong, is a pleasant place where you can visit and unwind. The rains bring out the luscious greens of the trees and forests. The gorgeous green grasses do bring out the beauty of the village.), living root bridge. After lunch drive to Dawki (35 km/1 ½ hrs) and boating at Umngot river – the crystal clear water river.
Later drive back to Shillong (90 km/3 hrs). Check in hotel at Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
After breakfast checkout hotel at Shillong and drive back to Kaziranga (260 km/6 ½ hrs). Reached Kaziranga and check in hotel. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Early morning go for a Elephant safari in the jungle. After breakfast again go for a Jeep safari in a different range of the National Park. After lunch check out hotel and drive to Guwahati (220 km/5 ½ hrs). Check in hotel. Overnight at Guwahati.
After breakfast drive to Kamakhya Temple – considered the most sacred and oldest of the 51 Shakti peethas on earth. After lunch visit local market. Drive back to hotel. In the evening, visit Alfresco Grand River cruise on river Brahmaputra and enjoy a beautiful evening with Assamese cultural dance /song. Drive beck to hotel. Overnight at Guwahati.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
